Contraindications:
- Pregnant and/or nursing
- Open wounds
- Aspirin allergy
- Accutane within a 6–8 month period
- Not fully recovered from any kind of cosmetic surgery
- Skin cancer – MUST be cancer free for a period of 3 years and have direct written consent from a physician.
- Active bacterial infection, viral, fungal or herpetic infections
- Pre-existing inflammatory dermatosis (i.e., eczema, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, pemphigus)
- History of drugs with photosensitizing potential (i.e.. Antibiotics: doxycycline, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, ofloxacin, trimethoprim. Antidepressants: doxepin (Sinequan); and other tricyclics. Antihypertensives (blood pressure drugs): hydrochlorothiazide (also found in some blood pressure medicines: Aldactazide, Capozide), diltiazem (Cardizem)
- Keep your skin hydrated before and after treatment
- Do not consume alcohol 24 hours before your appointment.
- Do not use exfoliating products for 24 hours prior to treatment.
- Do not use Retin-A or active skin applications for 7 days prior to treatment.
- Do not use the self-tanning agents and avoid UV exposure for 14 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid waxing, bleaching or hair removal for 14 days prior to treatment.
- If you are taking a blood thinner, aspirin or any other medications you may be required to obtain a GP approval letter for the treatment.
- On the day of the treatment, please do not apply makeup.
- If you are planning to have Botox or fillers please allow 2 weeks after your Botox appointment prior to BioRePeel.
- Immediately after your treatment, your skin may be more sensitive than usual. Use tepid water for the initial 24 hours to wash the treated area.
- After 24 hours, use a gentle cleanser to cleanse the face for the following 48 hours and gently dry the treated skin.
- Do not use non-mineral make up for 48 hours post treatment
- Keep the skin hydrated with a gentle moisturizer.
- Do not take any inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks post treatment.
- Do not apply makeup or sunscreen or 24 hours after the procedure.
- Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not new/recently cleaned.
- After the initial 24 hours, apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 for at least two weeks. A chemical-free sunscreen is highly recommended.
- For at least 14 days post treatment, do NOT use any Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.
- Avoid excessive UV exposure sunbeds and tanning creams for 14 days post-treatment.
- Avoid waxing, bleaching or hair removal for 14 days post-treatment.
- Do not go swimming or use the sauna/steam room for 14 days posttreatment.
- Do not participate in strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours posttreatment.
